As a veteran bracket-filler-outer, the only advice I can give is: never pick Notre Dame.

When Pope Benedict was installed, representative groups of cardinals, other clergy and laity promised their allegiance. I hear Benedict has brought back the practice for his successor that each cardinal will promise allegiance to the newly-elected Pope.
What I would like to see is this: a formal ceremony where the newly-elected Pope promises to representatives of various groups that he himself will serve them and the whole church, and so live up to the title “Servant of the servants of God”.
A story some years ago said that the Pope is the Servant of the servants of God.
The Bishops are the servants of the Servant of the servants of God.
The priests are the servants of the servants of the Servant of the servants of God.
Laity are people with a very serious servant problem.

Only four Europeans (or five if one counts Sandri, which one probably ought to) out of sixteen?
