An annual highlight of the National Catholic Youth Choir is Candlelight Adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in the Abbey Church to conclude the observance of Sunday, the Lord’s Day. In earlier years we had the ‘problem’ that, at the end of the service, the youth were so moved by the liturgy and the setting that they wanted to remain in church into the night. But the staff wanted some sleep. Kids nowadays! You can’t get ‘em to stop praying! Now we’ve solved that by turning on the lights for the closing hymn, “Holy God, we praise thy name.” Last night we were happy to be joined by the youth in the other summer camp at Saint John’s – Youth in Theology and Ministry.

That looks like a very interesting program! I’m sorry I will miss it. I don’t suppose NCYC could come all the way to eastern Montana next year….
