GOSPEL COMMUNION: Exaltation of the Holy Cross

September 14, 2022 : Exaltation of the Holy Cross

This same antiphon was used a week ago last Sunday, September 4 — see the notes for that day. In today’s Gospel, Jesus says that “everyone who believes in [the Son of Man lifted up on the cross] will have eternal life.”

The psalm verses selected for this feast, from Psalm 116, echo the deliverance by the Lord of those surrounded by the snares of death, described in the 1st Reading and Gospel today.

A demo recording using a selection of the optional additional verses for this day will be found here.
