GOSPEL COMMUNION: 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time

August 7, 2022: 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time

This antiphon is suitable for a number of different occasions and Gospel pericopes. On this Sunday, the lead comes from Luke 12:32 in the Gospel, with the main thrust of the 2nd Reading from Hebrews 11, which is all about the achievements of those who have faith. We, too, should not be afraid as we process to receive Communion; and, if we believe and have faith in the Lord who gives himself to us under the form of bread and wine, we shall be saved.

Extracts from Psalm 31 and 103 are superimposed on the antiphon, whether sung with words, vocalized or hummed.

An extract from the CD Walk in My Ways, using additional superimposed psalm verses as on the 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B, will be found here.
