Rev. Ronald Raab, C.S.C., reflects on the Gospel Reading (John 1:35-42) for the Second Sunday of Ordinary Time, (17 January 2020) for our 60-Second Sermon Series.
Loved this piece Fr. Ron. This speaks directly to me. Yesterday was the 5th day in a row that I have experienced an incredible miracle outside. I felt an urgency to walk outside, in the mid afternoon. It hit me so hard that I didn’t take time to put on my shoes, even. I grabbed my slippers and walked to Glen Pond (about 400 yards). As I am walking along the edge of the frozen pond, I come upon a huge crayfish – 6″ long, walking very slowly on top of the ice. I have never seen anything like this in my whole life. Vulnerable to the elements. “Soft Inside”. Experiencing a foreign reality – outside of all that it has known til this point. Soaking up the warm sun. Moving Slowly. I almost wonder if I hallucinated it, it was so bizarre. I hope you are doing well. Keep going. I will see you soon. j
