Who’s up for a Dispute Over the Eucharist?

Raphaels Dispute Over the Eucharist
Raphael's Dispute Over the Eucharist

Philosophy profs and buffs at my university and college created a human replica of Rafael’s School of Athens. Maybe we should get together and make an answering Dispute over the Eucharist!

I love it! It reminds me of “Sunday In The Park With George” I was in that play and it was thrilling to actually re-create that painting!

hmm… That sounds like a good idea, and fun for me. Do we want to pose this in Aquinas’ format? That would be a fun way to discuss this.

Question 1: Is the Eucharist a necessary consequence of the Incarnation?

I think that’s a good starting question. I have my own ideas, but I’d love to hear everyone else’s thoughts first.

    Peace,

  3. Neat! That reminds of the annual Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach, California. Locals recreate famous paintings and scultures. It sounds cheesy, but it’s quite amazing. Using make-up and lighting, they don’t just recreate the picture; they capture the two-dimensional quality of the painting or the metallic hardness of a sculpture. Here’s a video with some examples of the show.
