Kathleen Hughes: “Hope and harmony”

I have been asked to launch this celebration of harmony and hope. This is a real challenge for me, since I – as I suspect many of you – have found it harder and harder to ‘sing the Lord’s song in this alien land.’ Too often, of late, I have been ready ‘to hang up my harp.’

I was pretty tempted to respond to the editor’s invitation to ‘separated’ brothers and sisters with something mildly tongue-in-cheek inviting Catholics to join the one, true, holy, MENNONITE Church.

Transfiguration and disfiguration

Kenneth Leech is an Anglican priest, Christian socialist and community theologian from London, England. Leech believes that spirituality must be deeply rooted in compassion and justice; otherwise it becomes “mere spirituality.”
