GOSPEL COMMUNION: 6th Sunday of Easter

May 22, 2022 : 6th Sunday of Easter

Since the Missal antiphon is connected only with the Gospel reading for Year B (John 15, the vine and the branches), this year’s Gospel passage from John 14 suggested the use of one of the most popular Psallite settings, one that has transformed many parish and diocesan celebrations. If we keep God’s command, we will live in God’s love, a love that is made food and drink for us in God’s gift of himself in Holy Communion.

The psalm verses come from further on in John 15. If a lengthier Communion processional is needed, ten additional verses from John 17 are found at the 7th Sunday of Easter, Year A.

An extract from the recording on the CD Walk in My Ways will be found here.
