GOSPEL COMMUNION: 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

November 14 2021 : 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

To accompany these readings about the last times, today’s antiphon paraphrases Jesus’s words at the end of the Gospel reading:

Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away. (Mark 13:31)

Today’s 1st Reading ends with these words:

But the wise shall shine brightly
like the splendor of the firmament,
and those who lead the many to justice
shall be like the stars forever. (Daniel 12:3)

Accordingly, the psalm verses are taken from Ps 119(118), a traditional source for communion psalms, beginning:

Your word is a lamp for my steps
and a light for my path.
I have sworn and made up my mind
To obey your decrees. (Ps 119:105-106)
