September 12 2021 : 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Once again, none of the antiphons in the Roman Missal seemed to connect with today’s readings. However, the Gradual Romanum has this from Matthew 16:24:
Whoever wishes to come after me,
let him deny himself
and take up his cross and follow me,
says the Lord.
Psalm verses are from Ps 116:10-19: “I trusted, even when I said …. Mo vows to the Lord I will fulfil…. O precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his faithful….” We symbolize dying to self and following the Lord when we solemnly process to receive him in Communion.
