Now comes the challenge of trying to explain to people the mysterious moves of the past few months. Those who were on the fence, ready to give up on the Church, will only be more incensed by these latest moves. Those who have been champions of the principles espoused in Liturgiam Authenticam are now scratching their heads…
When the Vatican rejected the ICEL translation, I saw the joy and sparkle dim in his eyes.
What Cardinal Arinze wrote in 2008 was, and I hesitate to say this because of my love of and fidelity to the Church, simply a lie.

Frankly, there is part of me that believes that this frustration should be directed beyond the grave to the one that many are trying to call “the great.” For all that Pope John Paul II did for the Church, I wonder if his lasting legacy will be a more divided, more polarized Church. Only time will tell.
