The Vatican has demanded that “l’Union catholique internationale de la presse” (UCIP) strike the adjective “Catholic” from its name. The beleaguered general secretary of the union, Joseph Chittilappilly, wishes to engage the competent authorities in conversation, he stated to press agency Kipa on Thursday.

The Vatican will soon direct bishops around the world to ensure that all seminarians are taught Latin and, even more importantly, that they are trained to celebrate the Tridentine Mass.
A new section for sacred music and art will be established in the Congregation for Divine Worship.

Some claim that the pope is undoing the Second Vatican Council and forty-five years of progress in implementing the Council. Others claim that he is working to implement faithfully the vision of the Second Vatican Council, which means undoing the mistakes and misinterpretations of the past forty-five years and going back to what the Council really said.
Fr. Anthony has published an open letter to the Bishops. I think it is important and the act of a dedicated man. In commenting I want to make what I think is a needed observation about obedience and collegiality. I also provide a link to the entire letter, in case PrayTell readers have missed the full text.
