The Presentation Prayer Center in Fargo, North Dakota, is hosting an educational program about praying the Liturgy of the Hours during the month of February. The thing that might be a bit unusual, however, is that it will be taught by a Presbyterian Minister.
Paul H. Lang, head of staff at First Presbyterian Church, in Fargo, has a background of study in “Benedictine disciplines of faith formation.” He will teach the four-session program, which promises to “couple instruction about the Liturgy of the Hours with the daily immersion of praying the offices of Vigils, Lauds, Terce, Sext, None, Vespers, and Compline.”
The program appears to be designed to reach out to members of churches that do not currently pray the Hours but would like to introduce the practice.
Learning to sing the psalms will be part of the program.
