Pope Francis at Mass with indigenous peoples in Chiapas

He went one step further in quoting from the Popol Vuh, the Mayan creation myth, and expressing appreciation for indigenous wisdom, especially with regard to nature and the environment.

  1. Thanks Teresa It will be interesting to see what texts were used in the Indigenous languages. There was promise of a decree for use of Indigenous languages in the Mass. Can anyone locate this please – if it eventuated?
